Obituary

CHICOPEE – Rosalie C. (Tanguay) Duval, 80, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 25, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Chicopee on October 18, 1942, a beloved daughter of the late Lionel J. and Edna M. (Sexton) Tanguay. She was raised and educated in Chicopee where she lived all of her life. She was employed at K & M Electronics in West Springfield and previously was employed at the former Super Brush Company in downtown Chicopee. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Rosalie adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She enjoyed listening to music and was a devoted Ray of Elvis fan. Most especially she loved spending time around the fire pit in the backyard until the wee hours of the morning with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her trips to Hampton Beach where she always enjoyed a great seafood platter. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Lawrence R. Duval who was Called Home on October 14, 2013. They were married at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee on March 14, 1961 and they were blessed with over 52 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving and devoted children, Lisa C. Lacosse and her husband, Dean, and Lawrence R. Duval, all of Chicopee, and Angela Cole and her partner, Anthony Rovelli, of Granby; her five cherished grandchildren, Nathan Lacosse and his wife, Kim, Alicia Lacosse, Caitlin Mogilka and her partner, Logan Peterson, Jessica Oakes and her husband, Jeffrey, and Samantha Evans and her husband, Gregory; her three cherished great grandchildren, Nathan Lacosse, Jr., and Raelynn and Brody Oakes; her two cherished step great grandchildren, Johnathon Hoyt and his partner, Ceara Wright, and Jaelyn White; her two dear sisters, Claire Georges, and Elaine Boisvere and her husband, William, all of Chicopee; her three dear sisters in law, Alice Duval of Belchertown, Doris Dzuris and her husband, Robert, of Chelmsford, MA, and Priscilla Duval of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Lana Duval who was Called Home on August 27, 2017; and her two dear brothers, Ronald Tanguay and Normand Tanguay. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. prior to her Mass.
