CHICOPEE – Doris E. (Fortin) Landry, 89, of Agawam and a former resident of Stuart, Florida and Chapel Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 25, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on December 30, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late Wilfred and Eva (Durocher) Fortin. She was raised and educated in Holyoke and had moved to Aldenville in 1954. She moved to Stuart in 1995 and returned to the area in 2021. She was employed at the former Aldenville Rest Home and had previously worked at Saint Joan of Arc School. She loved spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Gilbert A. Landry who was Called Home on October 30, 1998. She leaves her three loving children, Sharon M. Gosciminski and her husband, Thomas, of Easthampton, Gregory G. Landry and his wife, Lorraine, of Scottsdale, AZ and Keith W. Landry and his wife, Miranda, of West Springfield; her five grandchildren, Amanda Gosciminski, Katherine Sepe and her husband, Brian, Cory Landry and his wife, Sarah, and Mya and Kaden Landry; her two great grandchildren, Eliza and Liam Sepe; her two dear brothers in law, Ronald Landry and John W. Hammon; her dear sister in law, Diane A. Bolstridge; and her extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear brothers and sisters. Her family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
