Lucinda Ella (Rogers) Snow, 97, of Fairhaven, died peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2023. She was the wife of the late Gordon Snow.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late John and Lucinda (Pimental) Rogers, she lived in Fairhaven most of her life.
Lucinda enjoyed time spent with family and friends; in fact, most family and friends would call her "Aunt Lu", something that always made her smile and was a source of pride. Every year she would make personalized gifts for Christmas, and was known for her hand-made quilts, teddy bears, Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, baby toys, scarves, jewelry bags, eyeglass holders, slippers, and so many other clever useful items. For years she would sell many of her unique creations at Craft Fairs.
She worked as a Seamstress in her early years before spending more time raising her two boys. Later in life she cleaned homes and eventually taught cooking, cake decorating, and sewing classes at the Swinburne School of Household Arts in Newport, RI.
She was an avid bowler and played in a league at the Fairhaven Bowling Alley which used to be on the site of the Stop 'n Shop.
Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Snow and Gail Campanella-Snow of Lutherville-Timonium, MD, and Timothy Snow and Robin Souza of Tiverton, RI; two grandchildren, Kyle and Tucker Snow and one great-granddaughter, Leila; and her sister Joan Mello of Fairhaven, MA.
She is predeceased by her brother John Rogers and sister Frances Walton.
Lucinda's Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Island Cemetery.
We are remembering Lucinda with a contribution to The Association for the Relief of Aged Women of New Bedford (A.R.A.W.) at 174 Union St., Unit 4W., New Bedford, MA 02740.
