Margaret E. (Mannino) Anderson passed away peacefully at the Bear Hill Nursing Center of Stoneham on Tuesday, March 21st. She was 96. Born and raised in Boston’s South End, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Rose (Mirabili) Mannino.
Margaret and her husband Bill, who was serving in the military, and their son lived in Florida, Alabama, California and Turkey during Bill’s postings as a missile and rocket specialist. Eventually they settled in Medford. Margaret was a loving and devoted wife and mother who stayed close to her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the company of her granddaughter and great-granddaughter. Margaret kept a beautiful home and loved to garden. She was active with many friends at the Medford Senior Center and always looked forward to doing arts and crafts projects. She also enjoyed many years of work with General Motors in their insurance and lending divisions.
The beloved wife of the late William A. Anderson who passed away in 2018, Margaret was a devoted mother to William Anderson, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Everett. She also leaves her loving granddaughter Nicole Anderson and great-granddaughter Avery Rose Bussell. Margaret is predeceased by her sisters Rose Delaney and Josephine Shaw.
Burial services will be held privately.
