Adelina Socorro Mendes (57) of Cataumet passed away on March 21st in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. She was the loving wife of Joao Mendes of Cataumet.
She was born in Cova Figueira, Fogo, Cape Verde daughter of the late Adelino Andrade and Maria Goncalves. Adelina enjoyed gardening, cooking Cape Verdean food and socializing with family and friends.
In addition to her husband Joao she is survived by her son Esmael Mendes of Cataument, (mother of the late Emanuel and Jacqueline Mendes), her brother Manuel Goncalves of Portugal, 2 sisters, Teresa Andrade and Maria Adelaida Goncalves both of Brockton, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Wednesday March 29th from 6-9 pm. Services in the Funeral Home Thursday March 30th at 11 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton. Viewing from 10 am prior to services.
