CHICOPEE – William J. "Billy" Doyle, 65, of the Chicopee Falls section of the city, was Called Safely Home on Monday, March 20, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born on June 23, 1957 in Springfield, a beloved son of Annette E. (Bouchard) Doyle of Chicopee and the late Walter J. “Jake” Doyle, Jr. who was Called Home on August 25, 2000. He was raised in Springfield, graduated from Putnam Vocational High School in Springfield and had lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Chicopee in 2012 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was employed as a longtime shift supervisor for Longview Fiber Paper and Packaging Company, now, New England Container in West Springfield. During his leisure time, he enjoyed listening to country music and fishing. He most especially enjoyed cheering on his brother, Jim, at some of his Nitro Harley Drag Races that took place all over the country. He leaves his two loving brothers, James E. "Jim" Doyle and his partner, Emily Kendall, of Chicopee and David P. Doyle and his wife, Suzanne, of Springfield; his cherished niece, Heather J. Doyle of Chicopee; his two cherished nephews, Timothy R. Doyle of the United States Air Force currently stationed in England and Daniel J. "Danny" Doyle of Springfield; his former wife, Denise Gignac of Springfield; and his many dear extended family members and friends. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. His burial will be private.
