Mary C. Morris
Former Tewksbury School Department Office Aide

TEWKSBURY: Mary C. (O’Malley) Morris, age 78, a resident of Tewksbury for 50 years, formerly of Somerville, passed away at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of Daniel W. Morris, with whom she would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on May 1, 2023.

Born in Boston on June 16, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. O’Malley and the late Mary J. (Power) O’Malley. Mary was raised in the Dorchester area of Boston. She attended St. Mark’s Parochial Grammar school and graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School. Mary resided in Dorchester and Somerville before moving to Tewksbury in 1973.

Prior to retiring, Mary worked over 20 years for the Tewksbury School Department as an Office Aide. She enjoyed reading, and was a member of an informal book club along with many of her friends and colleagues. She loved playing cards and attending local productions with her friends as well as sporting events to support her sons and later, her grandchildren. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, and loved to decorate for the holidays to spend time with family. Mary spent many happy summers on Cape Cod and Hampton Beach, as well as Lake Winnipesaukee, and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and Disney World. Her favorite treat was to get ice cream, always soft-serve, at Dandelions.

Besides her husband, Mary is survived by two sons, Eric Morris of Peterborough, NH, his ex-wife Kristen (Fiore) of Portland, ME, and Mark Morris and his wife Lauren (Bibo) of Tewksbury. She is also survived by her brother Kevin O’Malley and his wife Emily Ruth of Gloucester, MA, and four grandchildren, Jamie and Richie Morris of Peterborough and Portland, and Shea and Sunny Morris of Tewksbury. Mary will be remembered fondly by her best friend Susan Bissett of Tewksbury, with whom she shared a sisterly bond. She was predeceased by her brother Patrick O’Malley.
