Obituary

WORCESTER___Elizabeth Beriau (DiCarlo), 94, of Worcester, sadly passed away on Friday, March 17th at Dodge Park Rest Home with her husband by her side.

Elizabeth was born in Worcester June 15, 1928 daughter of Nicholas and Amelia (Mancini) DiCarlo. She leaves her devoted husband of 71 years, Joseph Beriau. They lived all of their lives in Worcester where they raised their family. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Bernadette Toomey and husband, Ed of Paxton; James Beriau and wife, Jeannette of Wellington, FL, Joseph Beriau, III of Worcester and Christopher Beriau and wife, Lori of Key Largo, FL, five grandchildren, Lisa Leveillee and husband Tim, Lauren King and husband John, Jennifer Beriau, Amy Fanjoy and Tina Beriau, 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Carol Catino and husband, Robert of Auburn as well as many nieces and nephews. Her son, Vincent Beriau, sisters, Anne DiCarlo and Mary Morrissey and husband, Jack and her brother Joseph DiCarlo and wife, Mary all predeceased her.

Elizabeth volunteered at St. Stephen’s Parish Thrift Shop for many years alongside her mother, Amelia. She was devoted to her catholic faith and was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and the church choir. She enjoyed singing with her choir at St. Stephen’s and at different parishes in the Worcester area. Her beautiful singing voice could be heard as she went about her day. Elizabeth’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also cherished her time with her numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to her as “Auntie Betty”.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from DIRSA – MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. Thursday March 23, 2023.
