Mr. Daniel Herbert 'Danny' Clark, a resident of Painter, Virginia, formerly of Medford, passed away at the University of Maryland Hospital in Maryland on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was 73 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of Martha (O'Brien) Clark and the late Herbert Clark. Danny was a US Army Vietnam veteran, entering the military from Medford on January 14, 1968 and receiving his honorable discharge from Fort Hood, Texas on March 16, 1970. Danny served with the Second Armored Division. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Victory Medal with three bronze stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantryman Service Badge and was promoted to Sergeant for his exemplary service.
Danny worked for Raytheon as a Manufacturing Engineer, for 45 years. While working at Raytheon, Danny lived all over the world developing and later teaching radar technology. Following his retirement, he enjoyed living near the ocean in Falmouth, Massachusetts and Painter, Virginia. He enjoyed walking in nature, kayaking and feeding the crows. He also loved reading, learning and visiting his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Danny is survived by his wife Juana Cruz of Norfolk, Virginia, loving children; Krista and her husband Jeffrey Kubick of Groton and Bridget Steinkrauss of Acton, grandchildren; Anna, Eleanor and Mary Kubick and Daniel, William and Maeve Steinkrauss. Danny was the oldest of 10 children, and is survived by his brother Mark Clark (and wife Cheryl Clark) of Townsend, sister Mary Clark (and late wife Terri Werner) of Middleboro, brother Paul Clark (and wife Estelle Clark) of Peabody, sister Anne Clark (and husband Gordon MacRae) of Medford and Falmouth, brother Michael Clark (and late wife Pamela Clark) of Medford, sister Joan Clark (and husband Larry McCarthy) of Braintree, sister Elizabeth (and husband Michael Adams) of Falmouth, sister Patricia Clark (and partner Ken Gardner) of Medford and Falmouth, and brother John Clark (and wife Therese Dennehy) of Arlington. Danny is also survived by many nieces, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home on Saturday, prior to the mass, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. Interment will be privately held.
