David (Muff) Mansfield, 65, of Billerica, MA, born September 16, 1957, son of the late Catherine Smith and Frank Mansfield, died unexpectedly on March 15, 2023 with his children by his side.
He is survived by his sons David and Brian Mansfield, his daughter Vanessa, and her husband Brian Micciche. His grandchildren Thomas J Mansfield and Bella Micciche, his former wife Isabel (Izzy) Dunlop with whom he raised his children. He also leaves behind five sisters: Diane Gaudet, Deborah Price, Donna Molinari, Doreen Streeter and her husband Jack, Tracy Alba and her husband Jimmy, his brother Frank Mansfield and his wife Linda, his brother John Mansfield, along with many wonderful nieces and nephews and a lot of friends. He was predeceased by his brother Brian, his sister Valerie, his nephews Jamie Mansfield and Dayne Mansfield-Brandano and his nieces Doreen and Shannon Mellen.
Muff worked construction in Billerica most of his life. He was a roofer who took pride in his work and was one of the fastest in his trade in his prime. In his later years he hung blue-board and did masonry work. He was a sci fi nerd who loved star trek and old western movies. After Muff retired, he took great pleasure in helping his family however he could. He enjoyed weekly trips to his sister’s house to take his brother Brian on errands or take his sisters and grandchildren anywhere they needed to go. We would jokingly call him the “transporter”. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren immensely and sharing funny stories about them with anyone who would listen. He was a happy go lucky guy and a big teddy bear.
We will honor Muffs life with a celebration to be held at the Billerica Moose Lodge (104 Boston Rd) formerly known as the 3bs. The time of the event will be on Sunday March 26, 2023, from 2pm to 5pm.
