Worcester – Theodore R. Silaidos, 70, a lifelong resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after an illness.
Theodore is survived by his wife of 4 years and the love of his life for the past 40 years, Nancy A. Mouradian; a brother, George J. Silaidos of Worcester; a sister, Bernadette M. Silaidos of Worcester; a nephew, Phil Franceschi and many cousins.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late George F. and Mary A. (Ciccarelli) Silaidos and served in the Army Reserve National Guard. He grew up in the Shrewsbury Street Neighborhood where he affectionately earned the nickname of “Kid Sal”. Teddy was a dedicated worker for the City of Worcester, working with the Street Department as a heavy equipment operator retiring in 2015 after 40 years.
Mr. Silaidos was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching horse racing. During his younger years, he was active in playing baseball and also touch football leagues in Worcester. Work was a priority in his life but he always looked forward to traveling with his wife, especially the trips to Myrtle Beach.
Funeral services are being held privately and are under the direction of Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Theodore may be made to the American Heart Association 300 5th Avenue Waltham, MA 02451.
