J. Kenney Quigley, a 5 year resident of Revere and formerly of Malden and Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 77 years old.
Kenney was born in Boston on February 10, 1946, a son of the late John J. Quigley and Mary (Walsh) Quigley. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Dom Savio High School. He would later further his education by taking several college courses. Kenney enlisted into the United States Army on March 25, 1968 and served his country with pride and honor during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on March 20, 1970 with the rank of Specialist. Kenney worked as a meat cutter for the majority of his life for several meat companies in the Boston area.
Kenney is the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth A. "B.A." (Terrio) Quigley. He is the loving father of Michael J. Quigley and his wife Patricia, and Boston Firefighter Timothy N. Quigley and his wife Leanne. He is the devoted Grandpa Q of Becki Quigley, Jesse Quigley, Nathan Quigley, and Jake Quigley. He is the dear brother of Thomas Quigley, and the late William Quigley, Richard Quigley, Mary Kelly and Alice Quigley. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kenney's visiting hour on Wednesday morning, March 22, 2023 from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. in the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will take place at New Calvary Cemetery in Mattapan.
