Mr. John J. Warren, a longtime resident of Lawrence and beloved husband of the late Ann (O'Flynn) Warren, passed away at his home on Wednesday morning, March 15, 2023. He was 95 years old.
Born in Watertown, Connecticut, on July 13, 1927, he was the beloved son of the late John S. and Jeannett A. (Bertume) Warren. John retired as a Professor of Philosophy from Merrimack College. In his spare time, John loved to play golf and was an avid reader. Above all, he was a very devoted father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
John is survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law; Christopher J. and his wife Janet M. Warren of Derrfield, New Hampshire, daughters; Shelagh A. Warren of Lawrence and Claire M. Warren of Methuen, siblings; James Warren of Naugatuck, Connecticut, Charles Warren of Arizona, Marie Warren of West Virginia and Sharon Dube of Connecticut, grandchildren; Elizabeth and Andrew Warren and Drew and Patrick Fitzgibbon and many nieces and nephews. John was also the brother of the late Ellis, Elizabeth, Lewis, Eugene and George.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 4 to 8 PM.
