Derek R. Pires, 29, of New Bedford died March 14, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, son of Leanne Lienard and Robert Pires, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Survivors include his parents; his companion, Ashley Santana of Fall River; his 3 children, Ja'Ciell Pires of Fall River and Nevaeh Cruz and Ana'Leigh Pires, both of New Bedford; 5 brothers and sisters, Ryan Pires and Alanda Pires, both of New Bedford, Tavon Pires, Ny'iel Pires and Alic'yea Pires, all of Fall River; his grandmother, Sheila Pires of New Bedford; his great-grandmother, Patricia Kimball of Fairhaven; many nieces and nephews including his nephew and Godson "Boom Boom", as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 18th from 1-4 PM with a prayer service at 4 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
