Andrew M. “Buck” Jones, 59, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, June 5, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, June 9, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Michael Roberts officiating and James Burch speaking. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9, Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was born May 31, 1947, in Jacksonville, Georgia to Laurine Burch Pierce and the late Andrew Julian Jones. He moved to Fitzgerald in 2005 from Warner Robins. Mr. Jones was a land developer, former electrician in Macon, former welder for Georgia Steel and former owner/operator of Phillips 66 Service Station in Warner Robins. He was a member of the Lighthouse Church Of God.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife: Delores Roberts Jones of Fitzgerald; mother: Laurine Burch Pierce of Warner Robins; daughters: Judy Jones of Fitzgerald and Tracy Marshall of Perry; son: Andrew M. “Andy” Jones, Jr., of Ozark, AR; stepchildren: Jerry L. Crump of Panama City, FL and Deborah Crump of Warner Robins; sisters: Mary Ann Meyer of Warner Robins, Barbara Lassiter of Belmont, NC and Sylvia Lee of Jacksonville, GA; brothers: Farris Jones of Cochran and Scotty L. Jones of Warner Robins; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Davina Jones, stepson, Charles L. Crump, III and a brother Carlton Jones.
