Joseph Guarino, Sr. of Woburn and Florida passed away peacefully following a short illness, March 9, 2023. He was 76. Joseph was the beloved husband of Nadine (Galluccio) Guarino and together they shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Avellino, Italy He was the son of the late Orlando and Josephina (Graziano) Guarino.
Joseph came to the United States with his family at the age of 13, first settling in Boston's North End. Joseph was an extremely hard worker, knowledgeable and a talented mason. As an independent contractor, he owned and operated the Guarino Masonry Company as well as the J.D. Scott Construction Company for many years. He was a true workaholic. In his leisure time he enjoyed the outdoors, boating, hunting and fishing. He annually enjoyed wine making and also loved aviation, holding his pilots license and flying his plane. Joseph proudly served in the Army Nation Guard and throughout his life he was active with several Veteran's organizations.
In addition to his beloved wife Nadine, Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph Guarino Jr. and his wife Ellen of Woburn, Roseann Rivard and her husband Robert of Andover, Robert Guarino and his wife Tricia of Nottingham, NH. He was the loving grandfather of Joseph Guarino III, Gina Guarino, Sophia, Cody, and Zach Rivard, Mary and Cormac Guarino. Brother of Louis Guarino and his wife Kathy of Canton and the late Marie Buonopane and her surviving husband Dino of West Roxbury. Uncle of Stephen and Jason Buonopane, Louis Guarino Jr., and Michelle Guarino.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Tuesday, March 21st, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Funeral Home will be held on, Monday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
