Obituary

Gerard T. “Jerry” Languirand, 92, formerly of Sandown, NH passed away Sunday March 12, 2023, in the Sunrise of Gardner Park Assisting Living in Peabody, MA. He was the devoted husband of Jeannette (Morneau) Languirand with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He was born and raised in Salem, MA, son of the late Alfred and Julie (Beaudet) Languirand. Jerry briefly worked for Raytheon before serving his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He later worked for Compugraphic, later known as Agfa Corporation, where he retired as an Operations Foreman. Jerry loved to drive and would happily drive anywhere. This love lead to his working after his retirement transporting cars as a driver for Interstate Automotive. He had a natural ability to repair electrical and mechanical devices, an ability he passed down to his children and grandchildren. Jerry loved to go ballroom and square dancing, and also enjoyed camping, boating, bowling and golf. Jerry and Jeannette had a passion for Christmas. They loved decorating and hosting the Christmas Holiday! Jerry’s greatest love was his family. He loved to see the kids, whether it was the 30-something year old grandchild or a 3-year-old great grandchild, it was all about the kids.

He is survived by one daughter, Elaine Leclerc and husband David of Peabody; four sons, Michael Languirand of Londonderry, NH, Alfred Languirand of Dover, NH, Gerard Languirand and wife Michelle of Hudson, NH, and Brian Languirand and wife Darlene of Hampstead, NH; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Albert Morneau of Salem, MA. He was predeceased by his siblings, Phillip Languirand, Theresa Marchand, Gertrude St. Pierre and Claire Moore.
