DUDLEY: - Christine Marie (Tokarz) Ducharme, 73, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, March 10, 2023 at her home on Dudley Hill after a brief illness.
She was born in Webster on April 2, 1949, the daughter of Louis Tokarz, Sr. and Mary (Mitchell) Tokarz. She attended Bartlett High School and Brom’s Academy of Hairdressing. She was a hairdresser for 42 years.
She leaves her husband of 56 years, Robert R. Ducharme; 2 sons, Scott F. Ducharme, and Shaune M. Ducharme and his wife Tammy, all of Dudley; 2 grandsons, Cy Robert Ducharme and Tristan Michael Ducharme, the lights of her life; a brother, Louis Tokarz, Jr. of Wappinger Falls, NY; many nieces and nephews who loved their “ciocia Tina”; and her former daughter-in-law, Rebecca Czernicki of Webster. She was predeceased by her sister Josephine Duquette of Webster.
After living in their home in Dudley for nearly 40 years, Christine and Bob sold their home and moved to the Black Tavern 14 years ago to become caretakers of that “Gem on the Hill.” She loved everything about living there, from sitting in the rockers on the front porch on beautiful summer evenings while friends would stop by to just visit and chat or showcasing the Black Tavern while meeting with folks who inquired about using it for various rental functions.
Chris loved cooking and baking and always had some special treats for her Black Tavern membership family when they gathered. She especially enjoyed spending time near the ocean at York Beach where she and Bob would return for vacations for the last 50 years.
Her greatest love was her family and being “Mimi” to her beloved grandsons Cy and Tristan while watching them grow up. They were her greatest treasures.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 25 at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road. There are no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to the Black Tavern Historical Society, PO Box 143, Dudley, MA 01571-0143. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski., Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
