Robert W. Fournier, 84, of Westport peacefully passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023with his family by his side. He was the husband of Naomi (Costa) Fournier, they shared 62 years of marriage.
Mr. Fournier was born in Fall River, son of the late August and Beatrice (Peladeau) Fournier and had been a longtime resident of Westport. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Prior to retirement, he worked for Patriot Metals, Providence and had also worked as a crane operator for the Rhode Island Laborer's Union Local 271. He was a member of the Rod & Gun Club of New Bedford. He was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking and furniture making and found joy spending time with his great grandchildren.
Survivors along with his wife include his daughter: Robin M. DeSousa and her husband Edward of Westport; his 2 sons: Robert R. Fournier and his wife Louise of Dartmouth and Michael R. Fournier and his wife Nadine of Westport; brother: Normand Fournier of Dighton; along with 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Raymond Fournier.
