Louis J. Ross, 79, of Belcourt Avenue, North Providence, passed away on March 8th surrounded by his family at the Morgan Health Center in Johnston. He was the husband of Carol A. (Heelon) Ross. They had been married for 58 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Ovila and Christine (Drew) Ross. He had lived in North Providence and previously living in Johnston.
He was a retired custodian with the Johnston School Department, having worked at Graniteville School for many years. He was an active member of the Teamsters, Local 251 prior to his retirement.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his 5 grandchildren. He loved traveling and puttering around in his yard.
Besides his wife he leaves his daughters, Laurie A. Colavecchio and her husband Richard of Smithfield, Karen M. Ryan and her husband Robert of Johnston and April J. Malone of North Providence. He was the proud grandfather of Amanda, Casey, Zoe, Jordan and Nicholas. He was the brother of Olive Fontaine, Sharon Garafalo, Thomas Ross, Melinda Potter and Martin Ross. He was the brother of the late George Ross, Forest Drew, Frank Ross, Corrine Cutler, Shirley Ross and Happy Hickey.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday March 13th from 4-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
