STANDISH – Richard Neil Brown passed away on March 8, 2023, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice house in Scarborough, ME.

He was born in Standish, ME on September 21, 1939, the son of the late Eva Butterfield Brown and Harold Edgar Brown. He loved going to and watching auto races on tv, working in the woods, managing his timber lots, visiting with good friends, family canoe trips, snowmobiling, dancing, evening buggy rides with Elaine, ice skating, attending athletic events of children and grandchildren, and was an avid reader.

Richard was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Straw Brown of sixty years in January of 2022. He is survived by his sister, Norma Wallace, of Wilmington, MA. He is also survived by his four daughters: Lynn Brown and her husband, William Sanborn of Standish, Tracey Dostie and husband, Harvey of Standish, Rebecca McHugh and husband, Jonathan from South Portland, and Bonny Brown-Denico and husband, Donald Denico of Standish.
