OXFORD: Richard F. "Dick" Walsh,78, of Oxford, died Tuesday, March 7th in Webster Manor after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Jean A. (Methot) Walsh, his sons; Jason A. Walsh and his wife Meghan of Leicester and Mathew E. Walsh of Oxford, his daughters; Rachael A. Maldonado and her husband Peter and Ryann E. Fontaine and her husband Steve all of Leicester, his sisters; Jeanne Groom and her husband Theodore of No.Branford, CT and MaryLou McGrail and her husband James of Mashpee, 7 grandchildren; Rebecca, Jared, Taylor, Samantha, Kyle, Alyssa and Ryder, nieces and nephews.
Dick was a food service director for several area hospitals, nursing homes and institutions prior to his retirement in 2017.
He was born in Brockton, the son of John and Helen (Egan) Walsh and later served his country with the U.S. AirForce during the Vietnam War.
At his request, no services are planned at this time. Burial with Military Honors will be private in the MA Veterans Cemetery, Winchendon at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice. The MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is assisting the family with arrangements.
