Obituary

AUBURN: Richard W. Mercier,73, of Auburn and formerly of Spencer and Leicester, died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 26th surrounded by his loving family in his home.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Patricia M. (Dunn) Mercier, his sons; James R. Mercier and his wife Jennifer of Leicester and Joseph R. Mercier and his wife Kate of Spencer, his twin daughters; Jennifer R. Chattelle and her husband Eric of Holden and Jessica R. Scavone and her husband David of Rutland, his brother; Raymond Mercier of Port Orchard, Washington, three sisters; Lorraine Hamelin of Palm Harbor, Florida, Carol Gatto of Spencer and Sheila Talman of Auburn, 12 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Raymond A. and Catherine (Harnois) Mercier and later graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He served in the US Navy Reserves.
Rick was a licensed master electrician and owner and founder of Mercier Electric Co., Inc., retiring in 2017. Rick and his wife spent their winters in Florida and was an avid golfer.
A Memorial Mass was held privately in Our Lady of the Angels Church in Worcester. At the family's request, there were no calling hours. The MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is assisting the family with arrangements.
