Margaret A. "Margie" (Connolly) Fitzpatrick, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 89 years of age.
Margie was born at home in Charlestown on July 18, 1933, a daughter of the late Michael Connolly and Ellen (Hurley) Connolly. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School . Margie worked as a Legal Receptionist for the Law Firm of Thornton & Early in Boston for many years.
Margie enjoyed dancing and traveling, both in the United States and to her favorite destination, Ireland. But most of all, Margie enjoyed her time with family. Her favorite moments were spent with her children, but especially her grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader and was so proud of all of them and was known for never missing any of their activities.
Margie is the beloved wife of the late William J. "Fitzy" Fitzpatrick. She is the devoted mother of Mary Assad and her husband Mark of Melrose, William Fitzpatrick of San Diego, California, Peggy McGoff and her husband Thomas of Stoneham, Daniel Fitzpatrick and his wife Lori of North Carolina and Joseph Fitzpatrick and his wife Michele of Winchester. She is the adored Grammy to Mark, Justin, Cassidy and Gabrielle Assad, Brian and Laurel McGoff, Stephen, Liam, Devon, Jill, Jenna, Brendan Fitzpatrick and the late Colin Shane Fitzpatrick. She is the sister of the late Mary Ransdell, Daniel Connolly, Joseph Connolly and Cornelius Connolly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margie's Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023 at 10 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. (PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH). Parking attendants provided. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. THERE ARE NO FUNERAL HOME VISITING HOURS.
