Obituary

Mrs. Evelyn Rose “Evy” (Robinson) Nocera, 87, matriarch of a well known family, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Bear Mountain of Andover with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Anthony J. “Chickie” Nocera, with whom she had celebrated 57 years of marriage together this past May.

She was born on August 30, 1935 in Boston, a daughter of the late Norman and the late Julia (Cannon) Robinson. She was raised in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School. After her marriage to Chickie, the love of her life, together they began a family of seven. She devoted her life to her family, and as her children grew, enrolled at the Middlesex Community College in Lowell where she earned an Associates Degree as a Paralegal. She then worked as a paralegal and later changed careers to become an addiction counselor. She worked at Habit Management Company in Lowell for several years.

As her family aged, in their retirement years, she and Chickie became world travelers, and had logged in excess of 30 European, American, and Caribbean cruise ship vacations. She was also a longtime communicant of St. William of York Parish in Tewksbury where she served as a Eucharistic minister for many of those years. Her family and her faith were the foundation of her long and well lived life. She will be missed dearly by all of those who knew and loved her.

Besides her husband, Evy is survived by her children, Rita Nocera of Wareham, Laurie Neilson of Plymouth, John Nocera of Phoenix, Arizona, Deb Carpenter of Dracut and Jean McLaren of New Hampshire, her grandchildren, Stephen Warren, Jr, Ross MacLaren, Anthony Stecchi,  Nicole Nocera, Dominic Nocera, Frank Nocera, Michael Nocera, Alyssa Interrante, Stephanie McCabe, Kimberly McCabe, Rebecca Callaway, Gabrielle Neilson, Madeline Neilson, and her great grandchildren, Amelia Callaway, Hazel Callaway and Dominic Nocera, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her 2 sons, the late George "Buddy" Nocera and the late Robert S. “Bobby” Nocera, her granddaughter, the late Kelly Anne McCabe and her brothers, Joseph “Buddy” Robinson and Norman Robinson.

On Friday, March 3, 2023 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, 978-851-2061.

Her funeral mass will be offered at 11:30 a.m. at St. William's Church in Tewksbury, followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury.
