Mattie Lee Lovett, 95, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, March 3, 2023, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Chuck Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Lovett was born October 20, 1927, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late Bob & Mae Mixon Wilkerson. She was a seamstress and enjoyed baking, traveling, singing, people and red cardinals. Mrs. Lovett was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Diane Drury of Fitzgerald; four grandchildren: Laura Fussell & Joel of Hinesville, Dan Lovett & Christy of Abbeville, James Drury & Michelle of Fitzgerald and Leighann Hendley & Michael of Irwinville; great-grandchildren: Jennifer Fussell, Lane Hendley, Gracie Lovett, Walker Hudson, Levi Hudson, Laurie Drury & Craig Conrad, Lucy Hendley and one great-great-grandchild on the way; two sisters: Darkess Web and Bobbie Mae Webster; and her cat, Peanut. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Lovett and several brothers and sisters.
