Leona Roberta (Guptill) Jordan, 86, of Medway died February 26 at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George L. Jordan, who died in 2020.
Born in Boston on February 15, 1937, the daughter of the late Leon R. and Alice (White) Guptill, Mrs. Jordan was a lifelong Medway resident.
Leona had been a data entry clerk for the Commerce Insurance Company for many years before retiring.
Leona’s favorite time of the week was Saturday morning, when she would enjoy Saturday Morning Coffee, as it came to be known, with her son, daughter, and any other friend, relative or neighbor who came by. This weekly tradition lasted nearly 20 years. She also had many friends and enjoyed “going out with the girls,” and never missed an episode of the “60 Minutes” television program on Sunday nights.
She is survived by her children, Robert L. Jordan and his wife Suzanne of Northborough and Lisa Ahronian of Medway.
She was the mother of the late Gail Occhipinti.
She was the sister of Barbara Hewitt of Parrish, Florida and the late Virginia Agneta and Phillip Guptill.
Leona is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew and Brian Jordan and Michelle, Holly and Kerri Ahronian. She is also the beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 3, at St. Joseph Church Medway at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
