Susan M. Trayes, 72, of Boston passed away in the early morning hours of February 22nd.
She was born in Nashua, NH to Kenneth A. and Rita (Pombrio) Trayes and spent her early years in Hampton, NH, Old Saybrook, CT, and Schenectady, NY.
After high school she moved to Boston to attend business school. Upon graduating with an associates degree she moved to New York City where she worked for a resort property management firm before returning to Boston to become an executive assistant first for a corporate training company and then for a commercial insurance brokerage.
Susan left the corporate world behind to become a mother and to pursue her lifelong passions of photography and gardening. Her photography won several awards at juried exhibits and she maintained extensive gardens at her homes in Boston and East Wakefield, NH.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sunrise Senior Living in Newton for their compassionate care of Susan.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, David, her son Zachary, and many nieces and nephews.
A private burial service will be held at Mt. Auburn Cemetary with a public celebration of life to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Susan’s name be made to the Alzheimers Association (https://alz.org).
