Billy Joe Hale, Sr., 57, of Ty Ty passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Ty Ty First Baptist Church with the Rev. T.J. Mauldin officiating. Mr. Hale will be laid to rest at Ty Ty First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Hale will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Born March 20, 1965, in Tifton, Mr. Hale was the son of Jack Drawdy and Linda Gibbs Drawdy of Ty Ty. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.D. and Ann Gibbs, the Rev. Leon and Ruth Drawdy and Jewel and Grace Hale; his father-in-law, Frable Napier; an uncle, J.D. Gibbs, Jr.; and several other aunts and uncles.
Mr. Hale graduated from Tift County High School. Before retiring, he was a Highway Maintenance Foreman with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He loved spending time with his family and he enjoyed fishing, farming and doing woodwork.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hale is survived by his wife, Lora Hale of Ty Ty; two sons, B.J. Hale of Ty Ty and Joshua Hale of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelby and Brandon Fincher of Ashburn; one brother and sister-in-law, Jackson Jr. and Tina Drawdy of Ty Ty; one grandson, Dillan Hale of Ty Ty; his nieces and nephews, Jed Drawdy of Tifton, Renee Drawdy of Ocilla, Tristan Epps of Leesburg and Mandi Jo Smith of Ashburn; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
