George Fares of Norwood passed away February 25th, at the age 58 years old. Born in Anfeh, Lebanon, he immigrated to the United States in 2003. George was a shining light and imparted his love of life in everyone he met. He was a devoted Christian, who believed and followed God’s path. He never lost faith and never gave up even when faced with the heaviest of burdens. An active member of his community he believed deeply in helping others. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
He was the beloved son of Mahassen Fares (Aoude) of Norwood and the late Nabil Fares. Beloved brother of Yolla Fares of Norwood, Najib Fares and his wife Angela of Ft. Worth, TX, Ezdihar Fares of Norwood, Mango Sarkis and her husband Samir of Norwood, Toni Fares and his wife Hana of Australia, Colette Geha and her husband Joseph of Seekonk and Silva Amari and her husband George of Stoughton and the late Rene McCarrick. He is survived by uncles: Nazir and Zuheir Fares, Rafic and Ken Aoude, and Aunt Fadwa Mahfoud, and their respective families. He was the loved nephew of the late Habib Fares, Maserra Sabbini, Marram Melhem, George and Riad Aoude, Elain El Jed, and Renee Derreik. As well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Service at St. George Orthodox Church of Boston 55 Emmonsdale Rd W.
