Wanda T. Auborg (Murrell) was born on October 23,1954 in Cambridge, MA to Robert W. Murrell, Sr. and Helen N. Murrell (Jackson). She was raised, educated, and lived the majority of her life in Cambridge, MA. Her greatest achievement that made her proud was purchasing a home in 2014 in Brockton, MA which was her last residence.
She was a woman of many skills and worked hard. She grew up in a large family and would often say that she was a tom boy who could handle herself. Wanda enjoyed a plethora of things that brought her much joy. She especially loved listening to her favorite music, reggae and gospel. On Sundays, you would hear her playing gospel music throughout the day. Other days, she played reggae music from her collection, particularly Bob Marley, her number one reggae artist. A staunch animal lover, she was especially fond of dogs and had the pleasure of having several who stood by her side. She also enjoyed bird watching and fishing. She spent much time socializing and having fun with her dear friend/cousin Francyne and dearest friend Lisa.
May of 1974, Wanda became a proud mom of a beautiful baby girl of which she raised along with the guidance of her mom. She was very proud her daughter who has two lovely daughters and a grandson.
Wanda was briefly married to Gene Auborg. She later met and spent many years with her long-time mate, Rudolph Jacobs who she fondly referred to as Rudy.
She worked various jobs throughout her life that consisted of a caretaker for the young and old, a staff member of the Fernald State School, Waltham, MA, a certified drywall finisher where she worked on a local project and a Cambridge crossing guard where she was employed until her retirement 2015.
On her journey, she was a strong woman survived a major aneurism which changed her life. She healed and overcame the challenge to enjoy many more years. Her last challenge was the diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease. She persevered until she lost her battle with her illness and was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert Sr. and Helen Murrell, her late sister Darlene Murrell and her late brother Anthony Purter. She leaves to mourn her passing: her daughter Christalia Uphena (Alex), Everett, granddaughters: Denaira and Dyani, great grandson: Amari, brothers and sisters: Robert Murrell, Jr. (Sandra), Cambridge, MA, Carlita Murrell, Randolph, MA, Wayne Murrell, Salem, MA, Keith Murrell, Dorchester, MA, Sister-in-Law Lisa Jackson-Murrell, Leominster, MA, Jana Milton (Kurtis), Hyde Park, MA, Laurette Walker (Stephen), Norwood, MA, Rena Cliette (Vernon), Atlanta, GA, Douglas Murrell (Marvia), Bridgewater, MA, Jaman Murrell (Bridget), Taunton, MA, Cheryl Walker, Torrence, CA, God daughter (niece) Aisha Murrell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncle and close friends who were all dear to her.
