CHICOPEE – JoAnn G. (Paglieroni) Niemiec, 66, of Chicopee Falls, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Waltham on January 9, 1957, a beloved daughter of the late Ersilio T. and Janette M. (Dollman) Paglieroni. She lived in Franklin for many years, graduated from Millis High School, and moved to Chicopee in 1991 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a Sales Associate for over 22 years for the BJ’s Wholesale Club and had previously worked at the NCO Club at Westover Air Force Base, both in Chicopee. JoAnn loved to bowl, play bingo, sewing, baking, cooking, gardening, trying her luck at the casino, watching movies, going out with her friends, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael B. Riley who was Called Home on March 23, 2017. She leaves her husband, Anthony C. Niemiec of Chicopee; her two devoted children, William B. “W.B.” Riley and his partner, Ashley Barone of Blackstone, and Heather J. Riley and her partner, Kamil Mikrut, of Granby; her five cherished grandchildren, Kamryn and Joseph Riley, and Magdalena, Natasha, and Sabrina Mikrut; her five dear siblings, Diane Paglieroni of Rhode Island, Karen (Paglieroni) Ozella Hiler and her partner, Jeffrey Higgins and Lisa (Paglieroni) Jasalavich and her husband, Daniel, all of Merrimack, NH, Patrick Hill and his wife, Flo, of Richmond, VA, and Janet Ross of Portsmouth, RI; her dear father-in-law, Richard “Bob” Niemiec of Chicopee; and her many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear mother-in-law, Shirley A. (Gross) Niemiec who was Called Home on August 16, 2018. A Celebration Service will be announced at a later date.
