Charles F. Goode, born in Boston, on December 24, 1934, died peacefully on hospice services in the Bristol Nursing Home in Tampa, FL on February 15, 2023. He is survived by his wife Yvonne Deen of Port Charlotte, FL, son David Goode (Nan), daughter Diane Komejko (Charles), daughter Linda Goode Dooner, two step-children, eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his first wife Velma J. (Snow) Goode, second wife Louise (Duchinski) Goode, six siblings, parents Stephen A. Goode and Johanna (Madden) Goode.
Charles began working in John Hancock food services at age 16 and retired at age 52 as head chef. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. Charles lived in Massachusetts until moving to Florida in 1992, was active in AA since 1984, volunteered at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida for 10 years, enjoyed casinos, bowling, shooting and the Red Sox.
Mr. Goode will be waked at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. Dedham, MA on Thursday, February 23rd from 4-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, February 24th at 9:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
