PUTNAM, CT - Kathleen A. “Kathy” (Cote) Wolchesky, 63, died Saturday, February 18, 2023 at her home after a long illness.
She leaves her husband of 37 years, John N. Wolchesky; a brother, Daniel R. Cote and his wife Margaret of Chepachet, RI; 2 sisters, Patricia M. Shead and her longtime companion Dennis Tackson of North Grosvenordale, and Christine J. Cote-Groh and her husband Lance Groh of Dayville; her father-in-law, Nicholas A. Wolchesky of Killingly; 2 brothers-in-law, Joseph Wolchesky and his companion Heather Montie of Dayville and James Wolchesky and his wife Eva of Clarksville, TN; a sister-in-law, Denise Houle and her husband Ronny of Dayville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Karen Chabot in 2013.
Kathy was born on February 9, 1960 in Webster, the daughter of Henry A. and Patricia M. (Cyr) Cote. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1978 and attended Worcester State College. She moved to Putnam in 1995.
Mrs. Wolchesky was an accountant at the Ecotarium in Worcester for many years, retiring in 2017.
Kathy enjoyed cooking, reading, animals and ceramics. She was devoted to her husband and family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with a service at 3:30 PM in the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111 or to the Cancer Center at Harrington, 55 Sayles Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.
