In Taunton, Adelino Vasco Teixeira, age 85, passed away in Morton Hospital on February 20, 2023 following a brief illness. Adelino leaves his beloved wife of sixty years, Maria (Martins) Teixeira of Taunton. He was born in St. Michael, Azores in Portugal, the son of the late Vasco and Maria (Amaral) Teixeira.
Adelino immigrated to Taunton at the age of 17 and resided in Taunton most of his life. He was the owner of Teixeira & Sons Landscaping and before that worked at both Corcoran Shoe Company and Frank Noone Shoe Company. Adelino enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, growing his own vegetables and fruit trees, raising animals, and above all was known as a hard working and devoted family man who cherished his time with family.
In addition to his wife Maria, Adelino leaves his loving children; Joseph Teixeira, John Teixeira and wife Melissa, and Ann Cabral and husband Arthur Jr. all of Taunton and the late Adelino Martins Teixeira. He also leaves his grandchildren; Ryan Teixeira, Alysha Fernandes, Tyler Cabral, Aryana Teixeira, Grace Teixeira, John Teixeira, Jacob Cabral, Zack Teixeira, and Dylan Cabral, and great grandchildren; A.J., Elliette and Emeline. Adelino also leaves his sister Mary Mello of Taunton, and the late Mary Veloze and John Teixeira. Uncle of many niece and nephews.
Funeral from the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, February 25th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church at 10 am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Friday from 5-7 pm. Burial in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
