Marion R.(Carlucci) Arcaro, 91, of Franklin died peacefully with family by her side on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Mario F. Arcaro with whom she shared almost 50 years of marriage.
She was born in Franklin on March 4, 1931, daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette “Tillie” (Lozzi) Carlucci. Marion was a lifelong resident of Franklin, and communicant of St. Mary’s Parish.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Maria Ponte and her husband Joseph; grandson Joseph M. Ponte and his wife Aileen; granddaughter Karen (Ponte) Kimball and her husband John; and great grandchildren Gianna, Dillon, John Wayne, and Luka; brother Michael Carlucci and his wife Marcia, and many well-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is predeceased by her beloved son Angelo D. Arcaro, and her siblings Florence Bussaglia, Gino Carlucci, and John Carlucci.
Marion’s priority was caring for her family, whether that was cooking a delicious meal of rigatoni and meatballs for those lucky enough to be there, attending and supporting great/grandkids events, or helping a loved one in need. Marion could often be seen driving around town in her blue Camry on her way to a quick visit with family or friends, or sitting at her kitchen table with a family member working on a jigsaw puzzle.
She enjoyed visits to local casinos to try her hand at the slot machines or buying scratch tickets to hit it “big!”. Her favorite visits were headed north, to be with her “Maine” family for a while, then happy to return to Mass. to her “Franklin” family. Later in life she learned how to navigate technology and social media. She could often be found scrolling through her iphone or ipad enjoying the latest posts by her FB “friends.”
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours Saturday March 4th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 9-10:30AM.
Her funeral Mass will follow at St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 11AM.
Burial will in be in the parish cemetery.
