Ralph D. Matarazzo, age 87, of Georgia, a long time Medford resident, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 16th. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Ralph and Ida Matarazzo.
In the late 1940’s, Ralph became the owner and operator of his company, Italo American Pasta Company. You could always find his late wife, Joan, working along his side. Together they were able to create a notable and loved company within the community, which still operates to this day as a fourth generation business, now known as Deano’s Pasta. In his spare time, Ralph loved spending time outdoors fishing. He loved to cook and loving spending time with his children and grandchildren. After enjoying a fulfilling and successful career operating his business, he relocated and retired in Georgia.
Ralph was the beloved husband of the late Joan Matarazzo. He was a devoted father to his loving children, Mark Matarazzo, Joanie Creato and her husband Timothy, Lisa Keen and her husband Thomas, Ralph Matarazzo and his wife Barbara, and Dean Matarazzo and his wife Hala. He was a loving grandfather to his 14 grandchildren: Cara, Nicole, and Diana Matarazzo, Sara and Ethan Creato, Katherine, Patrick and Thomas Keen, Ava, Ralph Noah Matarazzo, and Mya, Dean, Jenna, and Nathan Matarazzo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ralph on Saturday, March 11th , at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, MA. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
