Patricia S. Gorman, 92

Patricia (Stover) Gorman, age 92, of Mansfield, formerly of East Hampton, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late J. Richard “Dick” Gorman, to whom she was wed for thirty-nine years at the time of his death on December 25, 2000.
Born in Hartford, CT on July 18, 1930, she was a loving daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Brown) Stover.
Pat grew up in Hartford, CT and was a 1949 graduate of Bulkley High School in Hartford. She continued her education, graduating in 1952 from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford.
Mrs. Gorman was a retired Registered Nurse having worked at several nursing homes in CT. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past twenty-three years and was a former thirty-nine year resident of East Hampton.
Pat’s family was the essence of her life and she loved staying close with lifelong friends from St. Francis Hospital and former nursing home colleagues. She was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking and beautiful summers spent in Cornfield Point, CT.
She is survived by her devoted children: Gregory J. Gorman and his husband Mark Mezak of San Francisco, CA and Meg Costello and her husband Sean of Mansfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Ryan Costello, Liam Costello and Rachel Costello. She was the dear sister of John Stover and his wife Marie of Newington, CT and the late Jean Peterson and Arlyne Hancock. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 23rd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
Her funeral will begin on Friday, February 24th at 10:00 A.M. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will take place on Saturday, February 25th at 11:00 A.M. at Saint James Cemetery in Manchester, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
