Tyler Larkin Burgoyne, of Medford, passed away Thursday, February 16 at the age of 37. He leaves behind his beloved wife, the love of his life, high school sweetheart Bethany Taddeo, and his pride and joy, 4 year-old son Maximus, who brought Tyler so much happiness and to whom Tyler brought so much happiness.
Tyler was the adored son of Kevin and Julie Burgoyne of Medford. He was the middle brother between his best friends, Christian Burgoyne of Medford and Kolin Burgoyne and his wife Vicki of Stoneham, on whose two children, his nephew Teddy and his niece Emilia, Tyler doted. He is also survived by his loving grandmother, Helen Burgoyne, of Medford. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, George and Marion Severie, also of Medford. He leaves his uncle and aunt, Paul and Janice Burgoyne, of Medford. He was the nephew of the late Marion Gagnon and of the late William Burgoyne. In addition, Tyler is survived by his father-in-law and mother-in law, Anthony and Jean Taddeo of Waltham, who have known and loved him since he was in high school, and his grandmother-in-law, Margaret Keefe of Waltham. He also leaves two brothers-in-law, Matthew and Daniel Taddeo, also of Waltham, to whom Tyler often served as a big brother. Tyler is also survived by a large number of cousins. Starting at a young age, Tyler, his brothers and many of those cousins bonded while vacationing together at York Beach during the summer. They will all miss him, as will his many lifelong friends.
Tyler was born and raised in Medford where attended Saint Joseph School. He graduated from Matignon High School in Cambridge in 2003. He grew from a sweet and gentle boy into a sweet and gentle man. He worked in the food industry for many years before joining Amazon.
Tyler was a rabid Boston sports’ fan. The Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and Celtics had his total support, though oftentimes the same could not be said of management. He worshiped Tom Brady but thought Bill Belichick a fraud carried on Brady’s shoulders. He loved the Bruins but could rattle off all the stupid trades they’d made over the years and the General Managers who’d made them. The same goes for the Red Sox. He did, however, hold Danny Ainge in high regard for the many shrewd moves he made as Celtics’ GM. For some inexplicable reason, he was also a pro-wrestling fan. Tyler was a longtime and highly successful fantasy sports player and the life of the drafts. He played for decades with friends from elementary school. He loved music and held a special spot in his heart for any and all animals. Well versed in current events, he was smart and unafraid to go against popular opinion.
Tyler’s greatest love was reserved for Bethany and Max. Together since teenagers, he and Bethany were soulmates. Max was his boy, his buddy, and they enjoyed nothing more than hanging out together. Max loved his daddy and he knows his daddy loved him. Max will always remember the love they shared.
