Paul M. Murray, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 92 years of age.
Paul was born in Boston on January 31, 1931, a son of the late Michael Murray and Mary (Howard) Murray. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School System. Paul entered into the United States Navy on February 6, 1948 and served his country with honor and courage during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on January 18, 1952 with the rank of Seaman. Paul worked as a U.S. Customs Agent for over 35 years.
Paul is the beloved husband of the late Shirley J. (DeSimone) Murray. He is the loving father of Michael Murray, Paula Murray, and the late Donna Eldridge. He is the devoted Grandpa of Jaime Goodman and her husband James, Michael Murray, Melissa Murray, and to his great-granddaughters Jenna Bureman and Jaci Goodman. He is the beloved brother of Jack Murray and his late wife Marie and the late Robert Murray and his wife Joan, Joan Gorman and her husband Thomas, Louise Pinard and her husband Albert and Russell Murray and his wife Evelyn. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Paul's Funeral Service at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will take place at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. His visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
