Obituary

  Linda C James, 74, of Chelmsford, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Blaire House of Tewksbury after a period of declining health.   

     A daughter of the late Richard P. and the late Frances G. (Demers) James, she was born November 7, 1948, in Lowell, and was raised and educated in the Lowell Schools, graduating from Lowell High School.

     Linda was an avid photographer and made many friends taking photographs at the MIT Haystack Observatory and the Crane Estate. She also had many friends around the Freeman Lake area as well as on
Sheila Ave. She traveled throughout New England taking photos, capturing the “Beauty of the World”.

     She worked as a medical secretary for various physicians in the Lowell area until her retirement.

      Her survivors include her daughter, Iris R. Hill and her husband, Geoffrey D. Hill of North Chelmsford; her son, William C. Brightman, III, of Lowell; her beloved granddaughter, Samantha N. Rosa of North Chelmsford; her siblings, Donna Cabana of Merrimack, NH, Denise Sykes and her husband, Kirk, of N. Fort Myers, FL, Roberta Lilly and her companion, Jorge Garcia, of N. Fort Myers, FL, Richard James and his wife, Gretchen, of Merrimack, NH, Maureen Caires and her husband, Jerry, of Mount Juliet, TN, and Debbie Nickles of Arizona; Her brother and sister in law, Irvin Brightman and his wife, Sharon, of Westport; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

     She was the former wife of the late William C. Brightman Jr., and the sister-in-law of the late Patricia Walsh.

     The family would like to thank her home health aides, especially Cindy, as well as everyone at the Blaire House of Tewksbury, especially Janet for the kindness and compassion bestowed upon Linda.
