Louise Margaret Del Trecco was born to the late William and Lucille Leonard on October 4, 1942. She was the eldest of two girls. Peggy or Mama Peggy, as she was affectionately called, grew up in a strict Christian home, full of love. Although she was mischievous and tried to break the rules, like sneaking off to watch Jerry Lee Lewis, (the devil according to her mother), play the piano, Peggy believed in family loyalty. Her mom, dad and sister were the loves of her life. Peggy found a different love in Vincent Del Trecco of the old West End of Boston. She and Vincent were married. From this union daughters Carla and Elena were born. Peggy’s love had no bounds. She loved everyone, even when it was not popular. As a young child, she was ridiculed for having a black friend. Later she marched with Dr. King for Civil Rights. Her heart was so big and full of love for everybody. It did not matter who you were; a lesson she taught to her family along the way. Peggy was a caregiver. She began caring for her sick father. After his passing, she cared for children, becoming a home daycare provider, foster parent and an adoptive parent of seven children. Peggy loved the Lord. She also shared her faith and church home, Bethel AME Church, with the children. All of her children knew the Lord. Peggy’s love never stopped, often fighting for the people she loved. At one point, her daughter, Carla, gave her the name “Gansta Grammy.” Grammy became her name from her grandchildren whom she adored. Peggy loved and loved hard. She fought and fought hard. She always had a big hug waiting for you at the door or kind word waiting for you when she spoke with you. That's Peggy, that's love. On February 12, 2023 Peggy departed this life to be with the Lord. Waiting for her were her parents: William and Lucille Leonard, her husband: Vincent Del Trecco, and her sister: Ann Puopolo. She is survived by her two daughters: Carla Del Trecco and Elena Moise (Pierre), her grandchildren: Josiah and Naomi Moise, and her nephews: Anthony Puopolo and Matthew Brown and many adoring friends.
