Obituary

WINDHAM- Marilyn Elizabeth (Johnson) Leddy passed away peacefully, in Windham, Maine, at the home of her daughter Beth on February 14, 2023. Marilyn was born on October 16, 1923.
She was married to the love of her life Herbert Leddy for 56 years until his death in 2003. Marilyn and her war hero husband Herb had a wonderful life, having three children, eight grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
Marilyn was very active in her church community at St. Mary’s Parish in Seekonk, MA. She was awarded the Marion Medal from the Diocese of Fall River for her community service.
Marilyn was about faith and family, completely. Her efforts were all about family and church events, especially the holy days of Easter and Christmas. Her desserts of maids of honor, icebox cake, and crummie pie became extremely popular with her extended family, especially with her grandchildren.
Marilyn was pre-deceased by her husband Herbert, her son Paul, and her son Peter; her sister, Dot, who took care of her after she lost her mom, her brothers Frank, and Will.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter Beth and Beth’s husband Paul, her daughter-in-law Nancy Leddy, her daughter-in-law Mary Leddy, grand children Matthew Leddy and his wife Meg, David Leddy and his wife Kelly, Kara McDermott and her husband Ryan, Erin Deegan and her husband Mervyn, Patrick Leddy and his wife Cheryl, Danny Donovan and his wife Eliza, Colleen O’Brien and her husband Chris, and Meagan Nylen and her husband John, all of whom she loved dearly and appreciated their many visits.
Marilyn so loved and got enjoyment from her great grandchildren, Aidan, Nolan, Stella, Nate, Evelyn, Whit, Harrison, Zac, Charlotte, Cora, Ronan, Mairead, Grainne, Sloane, Frank, Teddy, and Elle.
Marilyn was blessed in the way of having Jewel Peabbles as her primary caregiver. Jewel was truly a ray of light during a significant challenge that Marilyn had to face.
Marilyn wanted to thank all the wonderful caregivers from Hospice of Southern Maine for all their care and consideration. Marilyn was especially appreciative of the caring she received from Leslie, Cathy, Annette, Monica, Lynn, Lauren, Jay, and Stephanie.

A funeral mass will be held on March 11, 2023, at 8:45 AM at Our Lady of the Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Drive, Seekink, MA 02771
