Captain Dave Willhite passed away peacefully at his home in Ventura on February 11, 2023. He is survived by his wife Judy Willhite, his mother Barbara Schmidt, his sons Shaun and Brian, their wives Beckie and Sina and 5 grandchildren Lucy, Olivia, Oliver, Kayley, and Emma, his siblings, Margaret, Robert, Susan and Grace as well as many nieces and nephews.
Captain Dave will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. His passion was fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Captain Dave spent time on the ocean since a young boy. He started fishing in Santa Barbara and moved to Ventura as a teenager. He was the owner of Executive Yacht Charters and Peninsula Yacht Sales. His love for the Channel Islands was unmatched. This was his favorite fishing ground. He spent many, many hours fishing the Channel Islands with family and friends.
Captain Dave’s family is planning a celebration of life sometime in April to be announced at a future date.
