CORCORAN, Janet M. (Glynn) Of Westwood formerly of Needham, February 14, 2023.
Janet was born on May 29, 1933 in Quincy, MA. She grew up in North Quincy, MA and was the beloved daughter of Alfred and Mary Glynn. She attended Notre Dame Academy, then Emmanuel College.
She was married to Walter Corcoran of Cambridge on February 20, 1954. Janet and Walter raised their family in Needham, MA. She was an active supporter of her children’s activities among them Girl Scouts, Little League, cross country and track. Janet enjoyed sewing, reading as well as playing golf and tennis at Charles River Country Club and Fiddlesticks Country Club in Fort Myers, FL. After 45 years in Needham Janet and Walter split their time between Fox Hill Village in Westwood, MA and Ft Myers, FL.
Janet loved her family especially her sister Ruth (Glynn) Miller of Warwick, RI, her 7 children: Walter Corcoran (Carol) of Walpole, MA, Mary (Corcoran) Woodward of Needham, MA, Paul Corcoran (Mary) of Needham, MA, Anne O’Connor (Joseph) of Needham, MA, Joseph Corcoran (Mary)of Needham, MA, Janet Lopes (Edward) of Needham, MA and Patricia Corcoran of Walpole, MA and her 31 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, her niece Kathy Butts of Warwick, RI and nephew Steven Miller of Needham, MA.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., Needham on Friday, Feb. 17 from 4-7pm. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew Church, Needham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
