Joan L. Joncas, 91, of Derry, NH (formerly of Wolfeboro, NH) passed away peacefully on the evening of February 14, 2023 at the Granite VNA Hospice House, Concord, NH. She was born January 28, 1932 in Lawrence, MA the daughter of John and Mildred (Bowden) Lambert.
Joan and her late husband Albert of 68 years lived in Salem, NH for thirty-two years before moving to Wolfeboro in 1992 where she lived for 30 years. Joan most recently resided at Birch Heights of Derry, NH.
Joan had a passion for music, and in her youth was formerly trained for twelve years in piano and voice. In her younger days, her musical background included being a part of a weekly radio show in the early 1950’s. She later enjoyed being a member of the choirs at the First Congregational Church of Salem, NH, and subsequently the First Congregational Church of Wolfeboro, NH.
Joan, and her late husband and veteran Albert, spent much of their time enjoying the community of Wolfeboro, NH with friends, neighbors, and family. Together they created many special memories, particularly July 4th and New Year’s celebrations around town, and of course, the summer concerts and music at the gazebo at the town docks in downtown Wolfeboro.
Joan was a home maker, wife and mother and was predeceased by her brother, John A Lambert. Joan is survived by her three sons; Todd Joncas and his wife Tina, Keith Joncas, and Mark Joncas and his wife Sandra, her five grandchildren; Jordan, Kayla, Ashley, Sean, and Sara and her four great grandchildren; Tyler, Stella, Jackson, and Brooke, as well as her sisters; Norma and her husband John Harris, and Nancy Lambert. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 22, 2023 from 5 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH.
The graveside service has been postponed until Friday March 3, 2023 at 1:00pm at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
