Daniel W. Fillingim, 29
Dateline: Norton, MA
Daniel W. Fillingim, age 29, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away suddenly, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 12, 2023.
Born in Norwood, MA on September 22, 1993, he was a loving son of Karen J. Funari Fillingim of Norton and David P. Fillingim of Norton.
Danny grew up in Norton and was a 2012 graduate of Norton High School. He continued his education, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New England Institute of Technology. For almost two years, he had been employed as a Mechanical Engineer for the Double E. Company LLC in West Bridgewater and previously worked at EMI Engineering in Rhode Island.
Dan’s greatest gift in life was the love he shared for family and friends. He treasured the times attending music festivals with his brother and visiting and helping his grandmother around her home. He was truly a Jack of all trades who could paint or repair anything to “mint perfection”.
When younger, Dan enjoyed building and riding BMX bikes and autobody repair and restoration. His favorite type of motorcycle was Suzuki, and he was a talented Husqvarna motocross rider. Dan was always there to lend others a helping hand and the memories created at his annual birthday bash will live on in the hearts of his family and close network of friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his dear and devoted brother Dave G. Fillingim of Norton. He was the cherished and much-loved grandson of Mary Funari of Mansfield and the late Gilio Funari and William and Hilda Fillingim. He is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his beloved dog “Bella”.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, February 19th from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
