Millis—Anna E. (Sherry) Zanetti 73, of Millis, a former longtime Franklin resident died at her home on Friday June 2, surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Mario A. Zanetti who died in 1995.
Born in Clonfad Co. Fermanagh, Ireland September 25, 1932 a daughter of Mary “Mae” (Reilly) Sherry of Sharon and the late Bernard Sherry she came to America in 1965 settling in Canton before moving to Franklin.
Educated at Mt. Lourdes Boarding School in Ireland, she was a hostess for many years at Sabina Doyles Restaurant in Medway and the former Welik’s Restaurant in Franklin.
She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, and painting and was also an avid collector.She enjoyed Irish Dancing and was involved with the Irish American Community.
She was a former member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Woman’s Club and a former religious education teacher at St. Mary’s School in Franklin, she was a member of the Millis Senior Citizens, she volunteered at the Franklin Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and also volunteered for the Meals on Wheels Program, and a former member of the Town of Franklin Tennis Team.
In addition to her mother she is survived by a son Gino Rory Zanetti of Franklin, 2 daughters Geri Zanetti Bare of Millis and Katy M. Zanetti of Watertown, 2 brothers Peter Sherry of South Carolina and Edward Sherry of Sharon 2 sisters Maisie O’Harte of Ireland and Etty Rafferty of Canton.
Also surviving are 2 grandchildren Stephanie Bare and Jacob Bare, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday June 6, at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home (www.franklinfuneral.com) 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 9AM. Burial will follow in the family lot at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
