LISA (MEYERS) AUDET, age 34, of Hull, MA, devoted wife of Matthew R., formerly of Swansea, MA, wonderful teacher, wordsmith, beautiful woman and extraordinary human being, departed on Friday, June 2nd at her home in Hull after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
A graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and Harvard University, Lisa taught English at Hingham High School where her razor sharp wit, intelligence, and inspiring personality made her beloved by faculty and students alike. For Lisa, teaching was a labor of love and her students were the objects of her devotion.
Born in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, Lisa is the much loved daughter of Karl and Linda (Bigelow) Meyers and sister to Kirk, Kevin, Ann and Susan. Richard, Alice and David Audet of Swansea, Massachusetts share in this tragic loss and take solace that Lisa is in a better place.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 6th at 4 PM at the Old Ship Church, 90 Main St., Hingham for friends wishing to share in the joys and accomplishments of her memorable life.
Lisa's wish was that those who choose to honor her memory send contributions to the Lisa Meyers Audet Memorial Scholarship Fund for Future Educators, c/o Linda Russo, Hollidaysburg Area School District, 201 Jackson St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. (Donations should be made payable to: "HASD Foundation" with Lisa's name in the memo).
The interment is to be private.
