John F. "Jack" Miller, age (86), of Taunton, passed peacefully on Friday Feb 10,2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Larocque) Miller for 60 wonderful years. He was the son of the late John F. and Alice May (Smith) Miller, and brother to Alice Miller and Beverly (Miller) Brothers. He was educated in Taunton and has been a life-long city resident. Jack was employed by Jack Miller’s Garage, Marvel Oil, and retired from W.H. Riley & Sons in 1998. He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961 while stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, where he received a medal for good conduct.
Jack’s greatest joy came from time spent with his family and granddogs. He was best known for his constant jokes, sense of humor, and for being a true gentleman. Jack enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, playing the slots, and watching New England sports. He and Lorraine were almost always present at their grandchildren’s school functions and sporting events. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church.
In addition to his wife, he will forever be missed by his son, David Miller, and his wife Kristen of Oak Bluffs, and his daughter, Linda (Miller) Wesson, and her husband Gregory of Sagamore Beach. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Nicholas Miller; Kayla Way and her husband Zackery; Megan Wesson, and his great-granddaughter Zoey Way, along with several nieces and nephews. He was uncle to the late Dr. Michael J. Brothers of Connecticut and the late Carol (Brothers) Costova of Raynham.
Calling hours will be held on Wed Feb.15th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home at 70 Washington Street in Taunton.
Funeral from the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home on Thursday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial held at 10 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
